College of Communications

What makes the college special?

The College of Communications is committed to advancing society by preparing students for a wide variety of communication professions. Currently, more than 3,500 students are working towards degrees in one of our three departments: Communications, Human Communication Studies and Radio/TV/Film.

Why should I give?

Your gift helps fund scholarships, research programs, technology needs, the Dean's Endowment, capital improvements, other funding priorities and the college's centers for study, research and development, including:

  • Center for Children Who Stutter
  • Southern California Urban Debate League (SCUDL)
  • Center for Entertainment and Tourism Studies

In addition, the college is working to raise funds for the new Digital Multi-Media Center. This new state-of-the-art center includes a broadcast journalism studio, a television production studio, a sound stage and equipment check out rooms.

Who benefits from my gift?

With rising costs and statewide budget cuts, students and faculty benefit from donors who help make up the shortfall as well as improve the learning environment.
