College of Humanities and Social Sciences
What makes the college special?
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences offers students the breadth of a traditional liberal arts education while preparing them for a wide range of careers. The college specializes in helping students prepare for graduate school and for advanced professional study in fields such as law, public administration, clinical psychology, and business. Most of our departments offer both bachelor’s and master's degrees, and each includes one or more student organizations that promote lifelong friendships and service to the community.
Why should I give?
To continue the important tradition of teaching the humanities and social sciences – the core of every great university’s curriculum – the college needs your support. Scholarships and other funding priorities help fulfill these goals.
Who benefits from my gift?
Through scholarships and other programs – such as the Washington, D.C. internship program – the students learn beyond the borders of the university. A liberal arts education not only prepares students for careers, but also gives them the background necessary to be critical thinkers and good citizens.
