College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
What makes the college special?
The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is dedicated to the principle that teaching and research are intricately mixed. Undergraduate research, overseen by award-winning faculty, is an integral part of the students' education. This fine balance between teaching and research is the college’s greatest strength. It produces outstanding graduates who will most likely pursue postgraduate degrees. The college has six departments: Biological Science, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Science Education.
Why should I give?
Your gift to the college helps fund scholarships, research programs, and capital improvements. Current funding priorities include:
- Scholarships
- Undergraduate Research and the Glenn Nagel Student Research Fund
- Faculty Research
- Program in Applied Biotechnology Studies (Masters of Biotechnology)
- Endowed Scholarships, which provide student support in perpetuity
- Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary
Who benefits from my gift?
Gifts to the college have a broad and varied impact, including support of students and faculty. In addition, many of the college’s graduates find employment in surrounding communities, which provides a tremendous resource for the economic development of Southern California.
