Planned Gifts

Planned GivingThese gifts offer several options to you while ultimately helping Cal State Fullerton. It can be as simple as providing for the university through your will or designating Cal State Fullerton as the beneficiary of your retirement plan at your death. Alternatively, there are planned gifts where you can receive an immediate charitable deduction, avoid capital gains taxation, and receive income for your life and/or the life of another while helping the university. For information about various planned gifts, visit the Planned Giving website or contact Michele Cesca, Associate Vice President, Central Development and Major Events, at 657-278-4869 or mcesca@fullerton.edu

In-Kind Gifts

In Kind GiftsGifts of goods or commodities other than money, known as in-kind gifts, are generally donated directly to the university (not through the Philanthropic Foundation). Contact the appropriate Director of Development in University Advancement for further information.

Securities

If your securities are valued at less than you paid for them, you can sell them and contribute cash proceeds. You receive a tax deduction for your cash gift and can claim the loss on your tax return. "I was raised by a single mother [who] held two jobs. Even though she was active every day, working both day and night, she would find the time to reach out and help others. She put that giving feeling into me a long time ago, and it just stayed with me."
